issues with aim

I can't think of anything that would cause this.  You could try
looking through your list of loaded plugins to see if one of them
might be responsible (in the "Tools" menu).  You could also try
watching the debug window as someone sends you a message (in the
"Help" menu).  If the text in the debug window doesn't make sense to
you, feel free to email it to this mailing list and we can try to
help.
