Help Me!

I have been trying to get this to work with AIM. On the program it say 
that there is not buddies on line anywhere. So I just want to get to the 
root of the problem because I have tried to search this and I have had 
no luck. Just to let you know I am using Google Beta OS (GOS) with the 
highest upgrades. But I also try to use it on my desktop and I am having 
the same problem.
