Do I have to change the local alias for every screen name I use?

Hi,
 
Each one of the Yahoo screennames that I loaded into Pidgin reflects the name of a different state(UConnbabe for the Connecticut chatroom, UCLAcoed for the California chatroom, etc).
 
When I click 'accounts' from the 'buddy list' pop up window, select my Yahoo ID, select 'activate ID' then select a particular Yahoo screenname under the 'Activate which ID?' drop down menu, is this how I change my screenname for each particular state location chatroom?
