Add Yahoo buddy to MSN protocol

How do I add a Yahoo buddy to my MSN protocol without opening a Yahoo account?
 
I am totally confused about Pidgin.
 
Supposedly, Windows Live Messenger will allow you to chat with Yahoo members without having to open a seperate Yahoo account.  Pidgin is suppose to be across platforms but I cannot figure out how to do that and I cannot find it in FAQ.
 
I created a MSN protocol with computer___guy at hotmail.com account.  I don't see any way to add my yahoo friend.  Add Buddy... only allows me to add buddies from MSN.  I want to add a yahoo buddy.
