Unable to connect to Google Talk

My gchat account will no longer connect though Pidgin.  I keep getting the
"Unable to connect" message.  I have tried deleting the account and
creating a new one but that did not resolve the issue.I also re installed
Pidgin but that did not fix the issue either.

Please advise.  Thanks.
