Pidgin system tray icon in Cinnamon (Ubuntu 12.10)

I have an issue where the system tray icon appears to move up ever so
slightly on any blink event, and then after a couple of blink events, just
simply disappears.

I'm running Ubuntu 12.10 and Cinnamon, and can confirm this issue on 2
different computers.

To fix, I either have to close and re-open Cinnamon, or I have to use
alt-f2 R to restart my window manager.

Any ideas?
