So please advise why the link has not been sent and if it has been sent and I have not received it then is there a way to delete the entire profile and start over ?

David's earlier response still stands. Pidgin does not operate any
services, thusly this community mailing list has absolutely zero access
to any service providers and thusly username and password information,
including reset requests, cannot be fulfilled in any fashion by this
mailing list.

Again, reaching out to the support for whatever service provider you're
using is the best course of action. This list cannot help in any fashion.
