How to setup Pidgin

Howdy,

My normal tonque is "Dutch".

The question is:

I've installing the programm  "Pidgin" on my desktop. The desktop runs 
with "LinuxMint13"

Is there anywher a pdf file how toe setup Pidgin?

I've tried ot add my facbook ID but this does runs good. I've got an 
error "No connect"

Hope to see some in my pigeon-hole.
