Problem receiving an IM

Hi, I am using Pidgin 2.10.9 and am having a problem where when one
particular contact tries to initiate an conversation, I do not get any
indication that she is trying to do so.  If I send a message to her then
she can respond to me.  I do not have this problem with anyone else (that
I know of).  Does anyone have a suggestion on how to resolve this?
