 Maybe the solution is to establish an incorrect password error handler.
 Then, if the protocol specifies that the password was incorrect, deal with
 it appropriately. Otherwise, fall back to the "dumb" error handler?

 I guess my main complaint here is that there's no "Enter a new password
 and log in again" option that's readily available for such an undoubtedly
 common mistake.
