 Or instead, just add a default keyboard shortcut to toggle "show offline
 buddies" ON/OFF, e.g. by assigning ctrl+o (offline) or ctrl+h (hidden,
 just like in nautilus). This function is valuable in use cases where you
 want to send an offline message to a buddy using a protocol that supports
 offline messages (e.g. XMPP/Jabber).

 IMHO, If all offline buddies are supposed to be merged into one "offline
 buddies group" it will be messy  with a potentially very large buddy
 pounce containing a mix of buddies from different groups and different
 protocols. At least make that "offline buddies group" optional. By just
 toggling the offline buddies on or off, they still remain in their
 respective group (likely at the bottom) and you won't have to search to
 find the right one. At

 you could perhaps add keyboard shortcuts for "Show empty groups" (ctrl+e
