 While "Jabber" is not as well known as ICQ, people talk about "using
 Jabber" and not "using XMPP".

 German mail provider GMX recently announced their own (XMPP based)
 messenger and it basicly says "Jabber" all over the place, on the webpage
 you'll find "Jabber powered" and "Jabber networks" but not a single
 mention of "XMPP".

 Even if this is technically XMMP and not "Jabber", it's known under this
 name. GTalk is a whole lot different and I guess Google boosted the XMPP
 usage quite a bit, so having GTalk showing up as its own protocol (with
 the right settings preconfigured and the possibility to support the GTalk
 smilies) makes sense to me.
