#330: Emoticon inserting in conversations needs thinking about

Emoticon inserts in conversations need some more thinking about.
Currently they're just simply pattern matched (I guess) which means that
some conversations can be hard to read see
 [http://beta.zooomr.com/photos/bluemonki/1020818].

A simple way to solve this is to enforce a policy of looking for spaces
around emoticon words in conversations so that you can tell that the
sender meant to use an emoticon rather than just happen to create one in
the middle of a sentence :)

I'm using 2.0.0beta5 under Ubuntu Feisty Fawn
