 I was referring to the IM protocol also.

 There's no point in leaving it open when I know very well that no
 developer currently involved with the project has the time or interest to
 work on this.  Doing so (leaving it open) would just clutter the tracker,
 and result in more valid (in the sense of more likely to happen) requests
 getting lost in the confusion.
