 I suggested that very thing in comment 10. I think it is a very good idea,
 as is switching to something more protocol agnostic like 'Username' or
 'Login' or something. I just think after all the work we have spent on
 making pidgin *more* uniform across protocols jumping and making it less
 uniform in account creation is not a useful idea.

 I've got in-line comments to your longer post coming, but I felt this
 deserved a quick response.
