 You've seen conversation windows pop up when you have the preference set
 to hide them? Was the file transfer window open already when you saw it
 pop up? And you are *sure* it was getting a new message that caused this?
 Do you mean the 'Hide new IM conversations' preference? What do you have
 it set to 'Always' or 'When away'?
