 Do you mean the 'Hide new IM conversations' preference? What do you have
 it set to 'Always' or 'When away'?

 Any conversation window that pops up is one that was already opened and is
 one other than the new window. All the windows that pop up were already
 opened. I'm sure it's new conversation windows causing it only when
 "Minimize new conversation windows" is checked. I've attached screenshots
 of my preferences.
