 It appears that the *FIRST TIME* pidgin is invoked for a user with a .gaim
 directory but not a .purple directory, the Protocol can not be moved to
 the left making the "Screen Name" any smaller. Only after that initial
 window is dismissed, and then when you go back to "Accounts" "Add/Edit",
 does the screen allow you to slide "Protocol" to the left to collape
 "Screen Name" some.

 I'm not sure if this is related, or if it warrants another ticket, but
 when I open up the "Accounts" "Add/Edit" window again, its gone back to
 the previous size, forcing me to again adjust it. Like it "forgets" its
 previous settings.

 I am running gtk-2.10.14 from FreeBSD ports.  My .gtkrc-2.0 has only :

 gtk-font-name = "Sans 20"

 To reproduce, I "rm -rf .purple" from a specific user, and start pidgin to
 convert. Once that, and it seems ONLY that instantiation of the window
 appears, I can not move the bar for protocol to the left. On all
 subsequent ones, I can.
