 THAT DID IT. Shout this from the building tops "Use
 login.messaging.aol.com in 2.1!!" Thanks for posting this as well as
 finding the solution.

 Methinks perhaps some firewalls don't like 2.1 using that alias? I should
 think the Pidgin developers would be slightly troubled by this as 2.0.2,
 Trillian AND Miranda have absolutely no issue with this alias. Wouldn't be
 surprised if PSI doesn't either.

 Just to further assist on this topic: I have VNC running on a box outside
 the same network, in the building. When I go into a meeting and connect
 the VNC/RDC 2.1 running on this external box kicks me out. It must have to
 do with the firewall software running in the VNC too. Now since the
 settings in the VNC are copacetic with the firewall inside the network,
 that could be causing kickout. I'm not really a networking guy - one just
 plays me on TV.
