Hi, I really don't know how else to discuss my complaints with 2.1.1
I downloaded it and within minutes switched back to 2.0.1 which I like
much better. I only use Pidgin for AIM and sometimes Yahoo. I do not have
all of my conversations in one window but with the new version there is a
tab at the top anyway which I do not like, its confusing and takes up
space that is not needed.
Also, I like the window better with all the options for font, smileys etc
right on the bar so that I do not have to through three steps just to get
a smiley. It was a little big but now its such a short menu and who would
really have their window made that small? It was much more accessible with
the options right on the im window.
The real problem I have with the new versions is that when someone
messages me for the first time, the window pops up over any existing
windows and anything I am typing at the time starts to appear in their
window, and if I am not paying very close attention I can accidently send
a message to the wrong person.
I like 2.0.1 because all the new conversations appeared in the upper left
corner, although even then they were on top of each other and it would be
better if they appeared fanned out the way aim, yahoo, etc have them
appear. Even with them appearing on top of each other at least they were
in a different spot than the other windows to avoid confusion.
I am not sure if this problem has been fixed in the newest version of
Pidgin, but in the 2.0.1 if I make certain smileys (such as crying), my
friends on AIM do not see them at all just a very strange set of symbols
or :P instead of the smiley.
