 I encountered this odd behavior as well (Pidgin 2.1.0 on Windows XP with
 SP2). Any spaces at the beginning or end of text copied from Pidgin's
 conversation window get trimmed off.

 Perhaps this is a GTK issue?

 Granted it doesn't come up that often and it's not terribly important, but
 it's still definitely annoying. It seems like it'd be more work to strip
 out the spaces than just copy what the user highlights directly... why did
 this "feature" ever get added?
