I did some more investigation. The above bug was first noted in 2.1.0
In 2.1.1 the bug seems to be more predictable. It seems as if each time
after a search is performed on a buddy's logs, the memory is not cleared.
For example, I have 6 MB of text log with a buddy. When I just open log
viewer, my RAM usage is around 300 MB. Clicking through and viewing all
the logs is no problem; RAM doesn't increase at all. Once I perform a
search, the RAM usage jumps to 530 MB. Performing another search runs it
up to 760 MB (about 230 MB each search). After a search has been done
though, opening a log takes up an additional 15 MB, meaning that after a
while of trying to find the log I am looking for, no more memory is
available, and the application crashes.
Interestingly, I have only found one buddy whose logs pose this problem.
It probably has to do with the size of the logs (6 MB in text is a lot of
characters).
