 Is that seriously the reason why?  Do you also fix grammar and
 punctuation, and convert British English to American?

 It's a spell-checker; it should be fixing mistakes, not trying to reform
 the world's use of language.

 And, again, the "u", "r" and others like them cause collateral damage when
 trying to type letters or initialisms.  Please reconsider which words you
 are going to include in the default dictionary.
