 The timeout after close works well, but there is at least one issue I've
 run into with IMs at least:

 I am talking with Foobar. I say bye and close the window (10:00). 3
 minutes later, Foobar IMs me and we start talking again (10:03). 7 minutes
 later, the conversation tab autocloses and the log closes (10:10). I feel
 like the counter should start over if the tab is re-opened.
