 I believe this will be fixed when they move to MSNP14 or 15, which should
 be soon. I agree, that is a deal breaker of a problem. It keeps me from
 using Pidgin for MSN (I run Pidgin and WLM side-by-side or in some cases
 another client) because I have a few friends who always want to chat with
 me while invisible because they don't want to be bothered by anyone else.

 But hang in there, it will be fixed soon.
