 I've had the same problem (I'm using Suse 10.2) and I had to un-install
 the gstreamer rpms and install gstreamer from src and all the plugins
 (good, bad, ugly, etc) and it worked properly. I filed this as a bug
 during the bet6 release, back on the sf page.
