Comment:

 An URL is not always clickable. I have a suggestion how to implement it:
 If the user pastes an URL he copied from wherever (maybe from README in
 gedit) and pastes it to the room field pidgin (and leaves the rest empty)
 Pidgin could recognize that it is a XMPP URL. Maybe the user also uses
 glipboard and graps the URL from the past.

 The only way for using this URL today is that the user either creates a
 link on the desktop or in an HTML page. Totem and Pidgin both are able to
 open URLs that are opened from a browser - but Pidgin can not handle URLs
 itself - but I think it should - and that even would not have to mean to
 change anything visibly.
