 I start Pidgin from my Gnome session startup programs to automatically
 start when I login. For me Pidgin doesn't start minimized regardless of
 its state when I reboot.  I have a feeling the problem is that Pidgin
 starts up before the task bar's notification area finishes loading which
 means that Pidgin doesn't have a place to dock itself. Just a hunch.
