 now i got more info to provide and more understandings to what is
 happening and causing this. i monitored how much pidgin uses memory and
 look what i have found, something really interesting: compengi 18298 26.6
 75.3 626344 388348 ?       D    18:54   0:07 pidgin it's using around
 388MB of memory! that's unbelievable. that's why my system hangs, trying
 to kill this process, which causes pidgin to terminate.
