 Thanks for the patch, unfortunately it didn't seem to fix the problem.

 I compiled pidgin again with debugging symbols and in another folder
 (because I didn't know how to remove the last installation..) so now I
 have pidgin trice installed on my system.

 So I fired up the new pidgin and entered both my accounts, and it seems
 pretty much the same.
 I attached gdb stepping output after I attached to the process and the
 console output (which I believe is what normally you get if you run pidgin
 -d), hope they help.
