 wbadger: Thanks for the gdb output, I found it helpful.  I've attached a
 patch that ''might'' fix this bug.  It sounds like you compiled Pidgin
 yourself, and that you know what you're doing... if you have a chance do
 you think you could apply the attached patch and see if that fixes the bug
 for you?  To apply it, save the file to your computer then run this from
 the root of your Pidgin/libpurple source tree:

 patch -p0 < /tmp/maybe_fix_infinite_loop.diff
 }}}
