 Holy cow that console output just blew my mind.  I see see why it's
 looping now and I think I'll be able to fix it.  I don't understand why
 their protocol does that, but that's less important.

 I'll just check in a fix for this and it should be in our next release,
 which I think will be this Thursday, and you can try that whenever you get
 a chance.

 Thanks for all your help!  You can take comfort in knowing that you played
 an key role in fixing this bug.  You rock!

 Oh, and for make uninstall... I think you're supposed to run make
 uninstall from the same source tree that was used to make install.  If you
 no longer have that source tree for /usr/local, you could always just re-
 install there and then make uninstall afterward.  For the sandboxes in
 your home directory, I'm assuming you passed --prefix=~/pidgin_install1 to
 configure?  If so, you should be able to just delete the whole directory
 tree.
