Comment (by mockage):

 Same PC, same installation and version (2.0.2). Only installed Pidgin
 yesterday when out-of-office, then had to play around with it today in-
 office to get working (proxy servers etc).

 Having got it "working" in-office, I will keep settings same and see what
 happens next week when out-of-office.
