 In case the configured nickname is already in use, Pidgin uses a nick of
 the form "usernam1", "username2"... However, the user may have registered
 username, username_, username__, etc., which is quite common.

 I'd like a way to add alternate nicks to Pidgin's list, which is currently
 impossible; it would save the hassle of manually changing the nick and re-
 identifying.
