 I am also experiencing slow responses when returning from idle (can take
 up to two minutes to notice my keyboard or mouse use), though I am not
 experiencing the additional odd behaviour you two describe. I am also
 using Win XP and only started noticing this since 2.0.1.

 My status/idle settings are:
  * Idle
   * Report idle time: Based on keyboard or mouse use
  * Away
   * Auto-reply: Never
  * Auto-away
   * Change status when idle: checked
   * Minutes before changing status: 5
   * Change status to: Away
