 I've noticed a similar problem. Focus is in another window, a buddy sends
 me a message and the conversation window flashes 3 times and then stays
 highlighted. But if the buddy then closes their conversation window (I see
 "Buddy has left the conversation." in my window) then the highlight
 disappears.

 I am using the following plugins: Buddy State Notification. ExtPos,
 History, Offline Message Emulation, Pidgin GTK+ Theme Control, Psychic
 Mode, Release Notification and Windows Pdigin Options.
