Thank you for your response. I am typically using a firewall called PC
Tools Firewall Plus. It is an excellent product, and with that said I
have tried even without PC Tools FW installed. I have changed providers
and since changing over to their equipment I have had nothing but trouble
using Pidgin and GAIM. Everything else seemingly works well. I am
suspect of course, of the NAT firewall/router I am behind because I have
tried many different combinations including the various OS's, and
version's of Pidgin/GAIM. I can btw access this same account using PCs
outside the LAN my home PC is on. Here again pointing me to the router.
So I am wondering what I need to open up port wise so communications can
happen. The router does have a DMZ feature that I could try. In fact I
may do so just to see what happens, in the interim though do you have any
other thoughts or what port numbers/types I need to open in the firewall?
