 That is inevitable. We will hear complaints about this for weeks from
 people who decided within 30 seconds that they can't live without protocol
 icons. Then, after a few weeks, once people have actually *used* it, the
 complaints will slowly fade out.

 This is more than speculation. This is the exact pattern I've seen from
 everyone, myself included, who was originally opposed to this change.
