Comment:

 *laughs* Well done!  You know, I almost took the incredulous route at one
 point and said, "Are you ''sure'' you're applying the patches?" but
 decided that would be a ridiculous thing to ask. Of course you were
 applying them! I didn't think to ask if you were then using the resulting
 binary... ;)

 I was able to reproduce this before applying the changes which are now in
 the repository, and I can't now.  Let's call this fixed and reopen it if
 there are reports of the same crash in 2.0.0 final.
