Comment:

 The change was intentional, originally the numbers were removed altogether
 as the thought was that you really don't ever need to know. That was
 quickly commented on and the group numbers were added back to collapsed
 groups under the theory that you might want to know if there are online
 buddies/contacts that you can't currently see.

 In what way is it useful to you to know how many buddies are online in a
 group?
