 I noticed when running pidgin inside gdb that the gstreamer threads don't
 seem to fully exit until more than 2 seconds after the initial sound
 queuing. So waiting an arbitrary 2 seconds between sounds might not help
 the problem if it's a timing issue.
 However, the delay does help the cases where you get a lot of messages at
 once (i.e. from NickServ), since pidgin used to freeze for a few seconds
 in this case while it tried to play all the sounds.
