 So does this mean I cannot connect to my Sametime server with Pidgin for
 now? Also, should I just install the current rpms without the libpurple-
 meanwhile rpm?

 Thanks for your support. I was able to install Gaim, and now it's
 communicating with my Sametime server like a charm!
