 any groups that use the OSCAR protocol as you may loose those contacts.  I
 also suggest getting the listhandler plugin from
 http://plugins.guifications.org/trac (it is in the plugin pack).  This
 will allow you to backup your list.  Though you only will want to restore
 it if you have to, as it may ask for auhtorization from contacts that have
 that feature turned on.  However it is much better than loosing the
 contacts entirely.

 Thank you, !DBDigital, but I am a core Pidgin developer.  This bug was
 opened so that this issue can be ''fixed''.
