 So is it set in stone that we will be stuck with the green blobs and no IM
 service icons?

 I'd like to know now so I can go ahead and start getting used to Kopete
 and finding a suitable replacement on my windows boxes.

 This developer attitude is the same attitude that made me stop using GNOME
 years ago.
