 Correct, I'm unable to do so now.  I've tried with both ALSA and
 Automatic, with MALLOC_CHECK_=2 set, which for months now has been a
 guaranteed way to crash on first sound 3 out of 4 times, and with -lmcheck
 which has been an even more reliable way to get it to crash.  Now with
 -lmcheck the only crashes I get are dbus ones, I no longer get the highly
 typical backtraces pasted above.  I no longer crash with MALLOC_CHECK_=2
 at all.
