 There is absolutely no reason to add an account that is used on only one
 account to all accounts, I have over 6 accounts connected *at work* and
 easily twice that at home and I'm on the low end of pidgin developers. So
 adding it to all accounts is just a hugely unnecessary amount of traffic.

 Groups in pidgin are not associated with accounts, doing so would
 unnecessarily complicate many things and/or require gross hacks like the
 one you proposed and I refuted above to work at all usefully.

 Sharing a single pidgin configuration with multiple people is exactly a
 misuse of the client, it is not designed for that, and you can easily use
 multiple configuration directories even without setting up multiple OS
 users (which is the right way to do this) by using the -c flag to pidgin.
