> I think the 'real' issue here is that you found the New... dialog
extremely confusing for some reason. Can you explain what exactly was so
confusing, or what we might do to make it less confusing?
You've tried to explain how the dialog works in the first paragraph of
your comment. It took you 5 lines to explain such a "simple" feature...
And I'm still confused:
> all of your enabled accounts are set to the status you set in the main
section and any specific exceptions you have set in the bottom section are
used for those specific accounts
emmm... come again? :)
It tkes no less than '''two''' dialog windows to set custom status for a
single account? That's the antithesis of "intutive" and "user-friendly".
I'll rewrite the algorithm from ticket #3805:
> Miranda, SIM (insert your favorite IM here): Protocol context menu ->
Status -> Offline
> Pidgin: Open up global status menu -> Click 'New...' (new global status?
new custom status? what?) -> Click 'Use a different status' -> Select
required protocol -> Select offline -> Click OK -> Click use
Am I the only one who sees this as being cumbersome?
It starts with the fact that the "New..." list item is used for two
entirely different things: "Set a new global status" and "Set a new custom
status for a single account"
Separate the two and I couldn't be happier. Combine the two and you get
something that scares even a seasoned IM user like me :)
