 same with v2.2.2
 This time I used the server us.ircnet.org

 Steps I did :
  - joind a channel in ircnet (any, like #test453)
  - in that chat windows issued a /list command
  - after the room list window appeared, waited a few seconds
  - closed the room list window
  - in the chat window i switch to the next tab (some message from the
 ircnet server)
  - after second pidgin freezes, after one more second its windows
 disappear (pidgin crash/exits)
