Comment:

 It looks like it is hung up during the notification area icon creation -
 the next line in the debug log should be something like `(13:00:51)
 docklet: created`.

 This could be caused by another application that is stuck when processing
 messages for the system tray window.  I'd try exiting and killing other
 processes that might be responsible to see if you can identify something
 in particular that is responsible.

 The other pidgin.exe processes sound like they're hung up while trying to
 detect if there is a running Pidgin instance.

 Is there something unusual about your desktop (windowblinds / custom
 something or other / virtual desktop manager / etc)?  I haven't heard of
 any other reports of this.
