 To reproduce:
 1. IM a buddy in a conversation window. Notice their thumbnail in the
 upper-left corner of the Conversation window is normal (colored). Same for
 the Windows taskbar button.
 2. Break Pidgin's connection to the Internet. The buddy will become
 offline and the thumnail in the Conversation window and Windows taskbar
 button will become dimmed. Also, the buddy's name will be shown between
 parentheses.
 3. Restore the connection. The buddy will be back online, the parentheses
 surrounding their name will disappear, but the icon will remain dimmed.
